Isn’t he so cute? Here is one of my Big Shot class projects for this month. Since the Gift Bow Die is on sale now through Monday, I thought this would be a perfect time to share my Mr. Turkey with you today.
Remember my Santa Party Favor I created using the Gift Bow Die for my Holiday Open House? For my turkey I used the same technique for the base and die cut feathers using the Gift Bow Die as well. I used the Owl Builder Punch and 1-3/4″ Circle Punch to make him really cute.
Nugget Holder Instructions:
Nugget Holder Base – Using the Gift Bow Die, die cut a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock (2-1/4″ x 9″) with the biggest shape (looks like a bikini top) and cut off 1-1/2″ on both sides, and then fold it in half.
Nugget Holder Box – Cut a piece of Chocolate Chip Card Stock to 2-1/2″ x 2″ and score at 1/2″ on all four sides. Then make a 1/2″ slit at both score lines on the longer side to form into a box and secure with Liquid Glue. Apply some Liquid Glue or Sticky Strip on the outside of the longer side and adhere to your base.
Supply List for Mr. Turkey:
Body – 1-3/4″ Circle Punch, Owl Builder Punch (Chocolate Chip card stock)
Feet – Owl Builder Punch (Cherry Cobbler card stock)
Eyes – Owl Builder Punch (Crumb Cake card stock), Googly Eyes
Beak – Free-hand to cut the triangle (Sweater Weather DSP)
Wattle – Owl Builder Punch/heart shape (Sweater Weather DSP)
Feathers – Gift Bow Die
Can you imagine making a bunch of these and set them on your guest’s plate at your Thanksgiving dinner? Well, I’m trying to keep my Thanksgiving tradition this year again. Can you guess what it is? NO COOKING!!! It’s been going for over 20 years and I do have a good excuse too. I wonder how long I can keep this going??? But this year I will make a bunch of these and bring them to my friend’s house. It will be a fun project for my youngest boy, I think…..:)
