Hi Stampers! Here is one of the projects we did in my Card Club workshops this month. Isn’t it so pretty?
Here’s a close-up photo of the snowflake die-cuts using the Snow Flurry Die. We die cut two snowflakes (1 small and 1 medium) using the Silver Glimmer Paper and then colored them in two different colors (Gumball Green and Primrose Petals refills) with sponge daubers. You need to let them dry a little bit or you can use your heat tool to dry them if you wish. The bottom snowflake image is the new Bold Snowflake Single Stamp (#132338) which is available through January 2, 2013. Did you know this Bold Snowflake stamp coordinates with our Blossom Punch (#125603)? LOVE it!!!!
Here is a photo of the card inside. Hope you can see how the gift card is stored tight in the card. I promised with the ladies that I’d post the measurements on the card holder here on my blog…..so here it goes:
Gift Card Holder Measurements:
- Baja Breeze card stock (base) – cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 3″, 5 1/2″ and 8″
- DSP (Snow Festival DSP) – 2 3/4″ x 4″
- Whisper White card stock – 3″ x 3″ (Snowflake stamp), 2 1/4″ x 3/4″ (sentiment)
- Gumball Green card stock – 2 3/8″ x 7/8″ (sentiment layer)
- Baja Breeze card stock – 2 1/2″ Circle Punch
I hope this photo of my template will help you how to fold your card and punch an opening for your gift card with the Word Window Punch. To make it easier you need to mark the width of your gift card in pencil. Fold your card base in half and insert your Word Window Punch only half way in and then punch out starting at one pencil mark and then moved to the other pencil mark. You will have a small notch still left in the middle, so go back with your punch and punch it out.
This is how the BACK of your card base should look like before securing the opening. Take a strip of Sticky Strip and apply it along the 3″ score line. That’s the only place you will need to apply any adhesive to secure the opening; otherwise, your gift card will not slide in.
This is a very simple and easy gift card holder and is super quick to mass produce for the holiday gifts. I made one with the Coffee Mug Stamp from the Scentsational Season Stamp Set and die cut with the Holiday Collection Framelits. This is so perfect to add a Starbucks gift card inside!!!
