Hello everyone! I have a very special card to share with you today. This is one of the cards we are making at my Card Club this month. It is called a Bendi Card. I’ve seen several versions of a Bendi Card lately and I thought it was time for me to give it a try! To be honest, I didn’t know what a Bendi Card was so I researched and watched some video tutorials. Then I came across to a gorgeous card created by Charlet Mallett (click HERE to see her card). I knew I had to try her card!!! After casing her card, I made some changes to mine to make it work better for my workshops because it has many critical steps that need to be done together in my class and also how much material I had in stock to make enough kits for my workshops.
Basically a Bendi Card has two front flaps that open and interlock to create a rounded bend fold. It can be closed flat and mailed in a standard envelope. For my card I changed the card base size to 4″ x 5-1/2″.
For my front flaps I used the Crackle Paint Background Stamp to add a soft pink color image (Powder Pink ink used here) since my butterfly die-cuts are made with 2 layers of Shimmery White Card Stock. I thought I needed to add a little bit of soft color in the background.
Can you believe this card can be flat and put in an envelope? Notice that my butterfly die-cuts are very dimensional. I only applied a tiny bit of the Tombow Liquid Glue to the center of each butterfly so that the top wings can be lifted up to make them more dimensional.
This shows how you can open the front right panel and how the front left panel interlocks to the card base.
And here is a small section for a special message!
