Easter Lamb Suspension Card

Hello Stampers!  Here is an adorable Easter Lamb Suspension Card we made at my Card Club workshops.  Isn’t it so cute?

Let’s take a closer look at Mr. Lamb.  He is stamped using the Archival Basic Black Ink on a piece of Watercolor Paper.  Then I watercolored him using an Aqua Painter and Soft Sky and Old Olive Ink Pads.  I also colored his cheeks and ears with Blushing Bride Marker and then added a shimmery glitter effect to his head and body with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.  I used the #6 Circle die to cut the paper.

I made an opening using the Circle Frameltis on the card front and also the layered card stock/patterned DSP piece to make it as a suspension card.  I found this tutorial on Splitcoasterstampers and created my card for my workshops. 

 

Here is a photo of my Circle Framelits.  I marked each circle with a number (1 being the smallest and 10 being the largest).  This makes it easy to explain what size to use in my workshops.

Before making an opening, adhere a patterned piece to a card stock layer (Pool Party card stock) and then place the piece on the Magnetic Platform with the Circle dies #6 and #7.  

The circle piece on the right will be used later to be adhered on the back of Mr. Lamb.  For now you can set it aside.  Using your layered patterned piece as a guide, trace the circle opening on the front of your card base (Crumb Cake card stock used) and then die cut your card base with the #7 Circle die.  Set this aside.

If you are using the Stampin’ Up! Grid Paper, having the wrong side facing up place your layered piece between 6″ and 10″ on the bottom of your Grid Paper.  This way it’s easy to see where your center line is.  Take a piece of Silver Metallic Thread and secure it with Sticky Strip or Tear and Tape Adhesive at the center line (8″) as shown above.  Do not remove the protective backing of the tape. 

Then flip your piece and place it on your Silicone Craft Sheet so that the adhesive will not stick to your Grid Paper.  Apply some pieces of Sticky Strip or Tear and Tape Adhesive on the back of your Easter Lamb and then carefully place it in the opening making sure your Silver Metallic Thread is adhered straight on the back of your Easter Lamb piece. 

Carefully lift your Easter Lamb piece and then flip it so that the back of your Easter Lamb piece (not your layered patterned piece) is facing up.  Now you can adhere your #6 die-cut to your Easter Lamb piece. 

To make the opening a little nicer I die cut a piece of Blushing Bride card stock with the #7 and #8 Circle Framelits and then adhered the ring piece to the opening. 

To embellish my card I adhered a scalloped border die-cut using the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper and the Scallop Border die from the Cutie Pie Thinlits on the top.  I also added a piece of Venetian Crochet Trim and a bow with Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine. 

Now this piece is ready to be adhered on the card front of your card base with some Dimensionals!!!

• Crumb Cake – 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ (card base)
• Pool Party (or Mint Macaron)Layer –  4″ x 5 1/4″
• Patterned DSP – 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
• Brushing Bride – 4″ x 4″ (ring die-cut)
• Watercolor Paper – 3″x 3″
• Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper – 3 7/8″ x 1/2″
• Whisper White – 3 3/4″ x 5″ (card inside)
